Dec 05 [(B)reakfast, (L)unch, (D)inner Included]
Sleep in or get up early and go for a jog, either way this morning is your free time.

In the afternoon you will be picked up for lunch. After lunch you’ll enjoy a half day tour that includes a visit to the Notorious Tuol Sleng Museum. In 1975 Tuol Svay Prey High School was taken over by Pol Pot’s security forces and turned into a prison known as Security Prison 21 (S-21). It soon became the largest such center of detention and torture in the country. More than 17.000 people held at S-21 were taken to the extermination camp at Choeung Ek to be executed. Detainees who died during torture were buried in mass graves in the prison ground. The museum displays include room after room of these photographs of men, women and children covering the walls from floor to ceiling; virtually all the people pictured were later killed.

Afterwards you’ll continue on to the Killing Fields of Cheung Ek, situated 15 kilometers south-west of Phnom Penh and made famous by the film of the same name. It was a place where more than 17,000 civilians were killed and buried in mass graves; many of them transported here after detention and torture in Toul Sleng. This place is a chilling reminder of the brutalities of the genocidal Khmer Rouge regime. In the center of the area is a 17 story glass stupa which houses 8000 skulls exhumed from mass graves. After you will continue on to Wat Phnom, a small hill crowned by an active wat (pagoda) which marks the legendary founding place of the Phnom Penh.

Overnight in Phnom Penh.

Dec 06 (B, L, D included)
After breakfast at the hotel, you will take a private transfer overland from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap province. Your first stop will be at the Skun Market known for big spiders. Afterwards, you’ll visit the Angkorian temple of Wat Norkor Bachey (12th century) and discover the temples of Phnom Bros and Phnom Srey,  located at Kro La Commune in the Kampong Siem District which is seven kilometers from the provincial town of Kampong Cham.

The pagoda of Phnom Pros is officially named “What Sovan Kiri Rotanak Phnom Pros”. One KM to the North there is another mountain which has a pointed peak called “Phnom Srey”.  North of the Phnom Srey, there are ranks of mountains such as mountains of Dang Rek, Ba Ley and Chhuk. In addition, at the top of Pros Mountain we can view the stunning scenery of Kampong Cham province.

From 1975-1979, the mountain of Pros was used by the Khmer Rouge as a detention place for torturing Cambodian people living in Kampong Cham province. The mountain of Srey has pointed peak and can be climbed up by 308 Stair steps. We’ll then continue on the road to Kompong Thom by crossing  Skun “Spider Village”. The town is well-known for selling deep-fried spiders to travelers who stop by on their way. Do you have what it takes to try one?
