I’ll also let you know why it was such a special event for me. I only started running two yrs ago after I was approved to be a kidney donor and, even though I don’t know my recipient as I am an anonymous donor, I think of them during all my runs, with lots of emotions, as I wouldn’t be having any of these opportunities without them. It was almost overwhelming for me at times to realize where I was actually running, in NY City, all the fabulous crowds, hard working, amazing volunteers, world class views of all the neighbourhoods we ran through, mostly the wonderfully supportive and cheering crowds….and looking down the long avenue into Manhattan, thousands of runners in front of and behind me, all with their own reasons for running, most like me, not professional and then entering Central Park when the road narrows and the crowds are right there was hard for me to take in that I was part of an event that far exceeded my expectations because of the New Yorkers themselves and how passionate they are about their wonderful city. We stayed a week and had an absolutely fabulous time. Your company helped make that possible for me and my husband and I am very grateful.”
